Lenten Devotional Day Thirty-Two
Writing this daily devotional has been such a good discipline for me. I invariably feel closer to God when I write and take time to contemplate Scripture and the truth of God’s undying, unquenchable love. As our world continues to unravel I believe we are called to pray for revival all the more. But I also know that we benefit from just drawing close to the Lord.
A.W Tozer said, “A thousand distractions would woo us away from thoughts of God, but if we are wise we will sternly put them from us and make room for the King and take time to entertain Him.”
What are some of the many distractions that are trying to woo you in this season? How can you sternly put them aside? How can you make room for the King and take time to entertain Him? Do you pray through the Psalms? I find them to be amazing antidotes to distraction.
We wait in hope for the Lord;
he is our help and our shield.
In him our hearts rejoice,
for we trust in his holy name.
May your unfailing love be with us, Lord,
even as we put our hope in you.
Psalm 33: 20-22
Digging Deeper:
How has God already demonstrated He is your shield in 2023?
How can you remind yourself that His love is unfailing? That He is always, always by your side?
