Eagles Who?
Are you looking forward to the Super Bowl? My man has historically been a huge Eagles fan. Will was born in Philadelphia and my favorite photo of him as a little boy is him on the couch in his Eagles jammies. I think he was two. But his rabid fanhood has waned some. In medical school he would study extra hard during the week to justify going to a bar with Sunday Ticket on Sundays. I tagged along numerous times cheering fiercely beside him. But after 2018, he’s not been as devoted. They won it all in the most underdog fashion. All those years of waiting, and now it’s as if that season cannot be topped. He’s almost moved on. Sure, he’ll wear his jersey and cheer on Sunday, but not with the same fervor.
Plus, I’m not sure sports has fully recovered from lockdown hysteria. On a side note, can we stop saying “When/then Covid hit”? I’ve heard so many people talk about plans that were derailed or a business strained “when Covid hit.” I think honesty requires that we start saying “when lockdown hysteria” ended my son’s senior year,
