Back to Blogging
In 2022 I moved to substack for two primary reasons: (1) I could treat it like a part-time job with an income stream from subscribers which helped justify spending time on it; and (2) I could write for those who were invested in my writing and not for just the general public. It was the right thing for the right season. But I’m in a different season now. I have no plans to shutter Spurstack completely because there may come a time again where I want to write only for subscribers. However, as summer draws to a close I want to be more structured with writing and in some ways it is easier for people to access my old blog. By the way, don’t you just hate the word blog? Honestly that was also part of the appeal of substack — “newsletter” over “blog” any day. Admittedly though it is much more user-friendly for the occasional reader and so I get a lot more engagement.
All that to say thank you for reading Spurstack. The financial support from paid subscribers in 2022 and 2023 was a wonderful and needed shot in the arm. It is humbling to think people would pay to hear my thoughts. I’ll post here when I finish Beneath the Juniper Tree — I feel terrible for dropping the ball on that, and certainly if and when I have other completed projects, I’ll update subscribers. I am wrapping up a little devotional for middle schoolers and I’ll link to that here when it is done. However, in the meantime I’d love for you to follow me on my blog: www.kristieejackson.com. Tomorrow I am launching a series on the Psalms and then on Thursday a series on the Puritans.
Thank you again for your faithful encouragement. It means so much to me.
