In Making Room I wrote about how Jesus redeems our lives from despair and crowns us with love and compassion. I talked about how we can be worn down by the dailyness of life, or by more acute matters. Regardless, Jesus is always there.
Similarly, the CSLI devotional is based on the part of Handel’s Messiah that quotes Romans 8: 31-34
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.”
God is for us, who can be against us? He loved us so much that He became a helpless Babe. How are you celebrating His birth over the next few days?
Digging Deeper:
Is there someone in your life who particularly struggles with this season? Will you pray that they will believe the truth that God is for them?
Jesus was born in a stable but sits at the right hand of God, making intercession for us. How do you imagine Him interceding for you today?
Christmas blessings to you and your family. 🙏😇❤️
